Bio

Paul is an American guitarist. Solo albums include: “The Visitor”, “Paul Hanson Orchestra”, “Raindancer” and most recent “Mindscanner”, all available at iTunes and CD Baby.

Paul is a successful author and contributing writer for Guitar World Magazine from 2011 through 2014. His works also include the best selling book: “Shred Guitar” (Warner Brothers), “Hard Rock Solos” (REH), “Metal and Rock Improvising”, (Video, REH) , “Arpeggios for Lead Guitar” (Video, Hal Leonard).

Paul is a Guitar Clinician for companies including Boss and Roland and he produces and hosts a guitar talk radio podcast called “Boss Tone Radio” you can find at iTunes and www.bossus.com/podcasts.

Paul has written and recorded music for TV and film. Some of his work can be heard on Trailers including the Fantastic Four, and many others. Paul also wrote main menu music for many DVDs including “The Matrix” and “The Perfect Storm” DVDs from Warner Brothers.

Paul has been the top guitar coach in Hollywood and worked on films and TV and taught guitar to many stars including: Michael J Fox for the “Back to the Future” movies, George Clooney, Eric Stoltz, Mitch Polleggi (X-files), Maria Conchita Alonso and Charlotte Ross of Aaron Spelling’s TV show “The Heights.“

Paul was the lead guitarist with Andy Taylor’s Thunder World Tour in the US and Japan, and Vanilla Fudge’s US reunion tour. He also spent several years recording and playing the Los Angeles club circuit with the legendary Brooklyn Brats.

Paul worked as a rock specialist at Musicians Institute (GIT) in Hollywood from the mid 1980’s through 1999. Also in 90s Paul was the director of the Rock Guitar Department at the American Institute of Music in Vienna, Austria where he also toured in support of his first solo album “The Visitor on the German MGI label.”
